First ever Dangly Fest?

I know I've been spamming today, but it's been my first proper weekend off in what feels like forever, so I've been reading lots of fic. I hope some of the choice quotes I've shared have appealed to you as much as they did to me.

One of the awesome things I've read, which is relevant to our interests, is Typo fic by rhymer23.

It is a work of genius, and you should all take yourselves off to read it at once. The fact that I'm currently learning to drive a new keyboard makes this even funnier than usual to me. :)

Inspired by rhymer23's example, I was wondering if we should have a danglypartsiple fest, in which we write ficlets which immortalise our favourite dangly entries. What do you think? You could leave them as comments on this post if the idea appeals.

I've often found inspiration in the accidental meanings, but I wonder if we actually have enough people hanging out here to qualify as a "fest"?

I have no idea if we have enough people/interest for a fest, but I thought it might be worth asking and finding out. It could be fun if we do.

LOL, of course not! If other people are involved, I'd love to participate! It's not much fun to do that sort of thing if other people aren't playing too, I've found.

Yeah, true. If I had just slightly more energy, I'd attempt to drum up some interest. I might write a ficlet or two though. :)

Er, the only thing is that I think this comm's success and awesomtude is largely due to the fact that it cruises along under the radar. Would having us post ficlets on our journals with but "this is for a danglypartsiple fest!" notes on it undermine that?

You may have a point about the radar. We could make it... a secret fest? Hahaha. I feel shades of SMOFing and accusations of cabals coming on.
